Get Involved

Get Involved

Whether you're a parent, a neighbor, a business owner, or just someone who believes in the power of education— there’s a place for you in the Communities In Schools movement. Here are a few ways to get involved:

Volunteer at a Local School

Community volunteers make a big difference—from helping at events to mentoring students or supporting drives. Reach out to your local CIS Site Coordinator to learn about volunteer opportunities specific to your school.

Donate Basic Needs Items

Schools often need hygiene products, clothing, school supplies, and food to support students and families in crisis. Contact your school’s Site Coordinator to ask what’s currently needed and how you can help.

Partner as a Local Business or Organization

Are you a local business, nonprofit, or civic group that wants to make a difference in your neighborhood? Partner with your nearby CIS school to provide speakers, internships, sponsorships, or special events.

Support Statewide

If you're part of a statewide business or foundation passionate about student success across Arkansas, we invite you to partner with AFMC-CIS. Your investment can expand services, build capacity, and reach more schools in need. Contact our CIS Program Manager to start the conversation.

Not sure where to start? Use the Schools & Coordinators page to find your local Site Coordinator— or reach out through our Contact page and we’ll help guide you!
