Through the Communities In Schools (CIS) model, AFMC-CIS delivers three tiers of student supports ranging from school-wide programs to one-on-one case management. These services are designed to help students overcome challenges, engage more fully in school, and stay on a path to success.
Examples of Tier I-III Supports Provided (SY2024–2025)
Tier I: School-Wide Services
These supports are available to all students and aim to build a positive school climate and address school-wide risk factors.
- Bullying prevention assemblies
- Schoolwide motivational speakers
- Attendance campaigns and incentives
Tier II: Targeted Group Supports
Designed for students with common needs, these small-group services help address shared barriers and build key skills.
- Lunch groups focused on coping skills or conflict resolution

Tier III: Individualized Services
For students with the highest levels of need, CIS site coordinators provide one-on-one support and case management.
- Weekly check-ins and mentoring
